Details on the closing of beaches
Regarding the decision to keep Villerville beaches closed, Mr. Le Maire specifies:
"The 7 Mayors of the Community of communes decided Friday May 8, 2020 to leave closed the beaches, until next June 2.
For surveillance reasons, human resources being insufficient
For health reasons to avoid a new peak of virus spread.
For the 7 municipalities with beaches, the logistics are not easy for the walks that will open next week. (Tuesday in Villerville, Wednesday or Thursday in Deauville)
Unfortunately, we are confronted with numerous incivilities and there is a great risk of reopening the beaches now. When preparing to reopen the promenade, we noted traces of dog excrement and footprints on the beaches.
A first assessment of the deconfinement linked to the promenade will be necessary before considering a wider reopening of the coastline.
Thank you for your understanding, your patience and your cooperation "
A section of the coastal promenade will reopen
Tuesday, May 12, 2020, the rocky crest promenade reopens to the public, one way. Access to the beaches remains prohibited.
In order to proceed to a gradual deconfinement,
You are offered access to the promenade between rue des Bains and les Graves.
HOWEVER, access to the Bains, Graves and Grand Bec beaches is strictly prohibited.

The risk of contamination is real
We must imperatively continue the collective effort aimed at strictly respecting the containment established by the President of the Republic. The spread of the virus continues in all regions.
Villerville was not spared. Some Covid cases are listed there. But for the time being, there are no reports of cases requiring hospitalization.
Towards the end of confinement, the municipality will organize a free distribution of "compliant and reusable" fabric masks. We have ordered 1,000 cloth masks from a Normandy company and we are awaiting delivery.
We signed up from the first days of this pandemic in a collective order approach with the Amicale des Maires du Calvados and the Normandy Region for 3000 disposable masks that we will give in the first place to the most vulnerable inhabitants and those in direct link with the greatest number of people (carers, traders, municipal staff ...)
